Fitting Guide

Our goal is to help you get the very best fit possible with the least possible "runaround"! We will do everything we can to help you get the right fit the first time, but prompt exchanges on unworn bras are NO PROBLEM! We want you to be happy with your purchase! To select the best size, ask yourself a few questions:

1.What size bra are you wearing now? How does it fit? Does the cup have big wrinkles or are you bulging out of the top and sides? Are you on the first hook or the last hook when you fasten it up? A well fitted bra should fit snugly around the ribcage without pulling up in the back to provide proper support. The cup should be big enough to allow for fluctuation in size due to engorgement but there should not be big wrinkles in the cup. The breast should fit in the cup nicely without any lumps or bumps in front or at the sides! Most moms wear at least one full cup size larger during pregnancy and your ribcage expands as well! Your body is changing rapidly and you may need several different sizes to wear during different times of your pregnancy and nursing experience.

2.If your bra fits perfectly, order that size! If you are on the last hook, you might want to go up a band size. When you get a bigger band size, the cup size gets bigger too, so if a 36C is too tight around the band and the cup is a little too small, you should try a 38C. If the band is too tight but the cup fits perfectly, you might want to try a 38B. If your breast is overflowing the cup, but the band fits perfectly, keep the band size and go up a cup size or follow the measurement chart below to determine what cup size you need.
3.If you have NO IDEA what size bra you are wearing and don't know where to start when it comes to fitting, pull out a measuring tape and get some basic measurements as illustrated. This will give you a good place to start but will probably not give you a perfect fit the first time! To get an accurate measurement, measure while standing and wearing a bra. When you measure, pull the tape snugly around the ribcage, but not too tight around the bustline.

To find band size for Leading Lady, Playtex and Fancee Free Bras: Add 3" to the ribcage measurement and round up to the nearest even number.
For Olga bras: Add 5" and then round up. (Olga bras run smaller than Leading Lady bras... you'll need a bigger band size in Olga to get the same fit!)

To determine cup size: Measure the fullest part of your bustline and subtract the band size (which you determined above) from this measurement, Compare the results to the chart below to find cup size:

Full Bust Measurement Minus Band Size = Cup Size Measurement
1" difference = A cup
6" difference = F cup
2" difference = B cup
7" difference = G cup
3" difference = C cup
8" difference = H cup
4" difference = D cup
8" difference = I cup
5" difference = E cup
10" difference = J cup
(DD cups and E cups are the same thing)

If you need help deciding what size you need, Please CALL! Our bra fitting specialists are excellent and will work with you to get the best fit possible!

We have found that almost every style of bra fits just a little bit differently so sometimes you may wear one size in one bra and a different size in another. It really doesn't matter as long as each bra fits you well! Try not to get too frustrated with fitting your changing figure! Remember that it is more important for a bra to fit properly than for you to be worried about wearing a big cup size! All nursing moms go through a bit of "Bra Shopping Shock" as their figure changes. Enjoy it! This time of your life passes all too soon!
