How do they work? One of the biggest questions we are asked is "How do they work?" Each of our patterns includes a false front panel which conceals hidden nursing openings. The openings are overlapped and remain securely closed unless you want them open. For the most part, we believe in "no fuss" nursing openings, which means that you won't have to fuss with bulky buttons or closures. We try to make every opening easy to open, easy to close and comfortable to use! By adjusting the fabric around your baby's face to provide maximum coverage, you will be able to nurse discreetly and confidently in almost any situation without embarrassment for you or others. Most will have no idea that you are nursing your baby. Once you get your clothing made, we suggest you sit in front of a mirror and practice nursing discreetly until you get the hang of it. This will help you to be more confident once you get out in public. If your baby is fussy and has trouble latching on, turn your back or go out of the room until you get your baby started, then come back and no one will ever know you are nursing your baby! Our patterns are perfect for plane trips, church, family reunions, weddings, restaurants, and almost any place where you might take your baby! Not only are our fashions nice for nursing, you can wear them after your baby is weaned as well!! |

Demonstration Nursing Opening in NC209 |
This opening features two layers of overlapped fabric, usually one on each side, secured on the upper and lower edges. This is sometimes combined with a yoke. Vertical openings are wonderful because they have almost no bulk and are easy to adjust for discreet nursing. This opening is featured on many of our dresses! Most styles work well for nursing twins or singles. |
This opening is very similar to the overlapped vertical opening but features a larger central opening, a narrow oval, or "slit" which is then accessed from either side from a center front panel. This opening is a bit more secure, but can be a little more difficult to maneuver if you are nursing twins or if you are extremely large busted, but many mom's with twins report it works great. This style is featured on many of our dresses, our swimsuit pattern and our new nursing slip pattern. Question About this Opening |
