Tops From Tank to Turtleneck

Nursing Classics #205 is a great basic pattern designed to provide you with a wide variety of choices to provide an excellent foundation for your nursing wardrobe!

This great pattern includes 6 sizes ranging from 4-24 and will fit nursing bustlines from about 34-52 inches.

Rated very easy, this pattern is fun when you are in a time pinch and need some nursing clothes FAST! Most of these views can be made in just a few hours.

Tammy Bird models View 1, the tank top variation. Tammy's version was made from woven fabrics, a sheer yellow floral layered over a solid yellow for a very cute up-to-date look, perfect for summer. To do this we cut one layer of each fabric type and sewed the top together, treating the two layers as one fabric. This classic look is perfect alone or can be layered easily under a jacket for a great fashion look in all seasons. The neckline for this view can be easily adjusted up or down (instructions are included).

Nicole Lorg, with her 1 year old baby Adriana, models View 2, a basic shell top fashioned from a magenta polyester blend fabric. This dressy top can be worn with or without a jacket and with no set in sleeve, it sews up like a breeze! Although not illustrated, this basic shell pattern can also be made with just a cap sleeve.

View 3 features a basic t-top that can be made from knit or woven fabrics in either short or long sleeves to provide a great basic foundation for your wardrobe. This view does not have dropped shoulders and is perfect for wearing under jumpers, jackets or alone!

View 4 is a basic turtleneck that is designed to be fashioned from knit fabrics only. We hope to picture these two versions in our fall newsletter!

I bought my first ELD pattern (#205) last summer and it was so easy to make AND modify. Not only did it save me money, but I was able to use my own light-weight fabrics which are much cooler than pre-fabricated nursing wear (which is also more expensive and difficult to find.) I am looking forward to making design #210 to wear to a wedding. Thank you, ELD, for making nursing so stylish!
