This dress was one of the first ones we made and was sewn from a beautiful plum moleskin that was featured on our fabric extravaganza. It has just a slight bit of Lycra which provides a nice bit of "give" to the fabric. We used size small and made the dress with the longest view so it swept just above the ankles. When Mary tried it on, it was really tight over the hips! We added a girdle for the photo shoot and she absolutely loved the look!

She said.. " This is the first time in as long as I can remember that I felt like I had a shape!" Because of the Lycra in the moleskin, we were able to get away with a tighter look. With a non-stretch fabric, you will want to add more ease over the hip area or use a larger size. Instructions for getting the right fit are included in the sewing guide.

This close-up view of the same dress shows how beautiful the line of the dress is. The nursing openings create a very slimming silhouette and fade away into the design details of the dress! Even thought this dress was very fitted, Mary was still able to nurse her baby easily in it! See the picture of this on the nursing openings page. This view required 3 7/8 yard of 45" wide fabric. Larger sizes require more fabric.
