Elegance and Simplicity! ... and nursing access as well! If you are in the mood to look beautiful again, try sewing yourself a pretty nightgown from Nursing Classics #301! View 4, the maternity/nursing slip offers so many possibilities for use as a dress and nightgown because of the extra fullness it offers! We found this elegant cream polyester satin fabric and couldn't resist making this nightgown/pegnoir set using view 4 for the nightgown and view 6 for the jacket! The fabric has a woven leaf pattern throughout. It draped just beautifully and is so pretty! The bedjacket offers just the right amount of coverage for when company comes and you still don't want to get dressed! For this bedjacket, we added center front ties, so it can be tied closed, or left open as pictured. This size medium, long length gown took 3 yards of 45" fabric and the pegnoir bedjacket required 1 1/3 yards of 45" fabric. To see close ups of ties see View 6 |
The bedjacket can be fastened or left hanging open as shown here. |

Elizabeth shows what View 4 looks like with a full-term pregnant tummy and a sheer jacket fashioned from the top layer of fabric! The smooth line of this maternity slip/dress just skims a pregnant tummy and is very attractive! To make the jacket, we cut a single layer of sheer fabric from view 6. We matched the floral pattern, so it took a bit more fabric. We sewed the shoulder and side seams with a narrow serged seam and then we did a rolled hem stitch on the serger around the entire outside edge of the jacket. We added center front ties which may be worn tied or open as pictured. This was a FUN project! Very pretty and easy to do! |
