Yardage for Nursing Classics #303

 

Nursing Classics #303 is a great basic pattern for infants, toddlers and children. This pattern is specifically designed for simplicity in construction. Views 1 and 2 are designed for infants and toddlers up to 3T. Views 3 & 4 are two different views of diaper covers that are designed to be worn under views 1 & 2. View 5 is a cute little romper for baby boys or girls and it will fit infants up to 24 months. Views 6 & 7 are designed for little girls sizes 4-9. This basic pattern features capped sleeves that are just perfect for the cool months of summer. With minimal yardage requirements, this pattern is perfect for using up scraps of fabric. Use it to make matching baby/mom outfits. This pattern includes cutting lines for all sizes and a variety of appliques and ideas for decorative accents. Not all views are available in all sizes.

Select size based on chest measurement. Allow at least 1-2 inches of ease through the chest area when using knit fabrics. The above fitting measurements may vary depending on the type of fabric you are using and the amount of wearing ease desired. Proportions change between the toddler and children's sizes. In this age group, the body measurements don't always get larger, but the body lengthens dramatically. For View 5, be sure to check body length when selecting size.

Yardage figures are as precise as possible. Please allow extra for shrinkage and pre-wash all fabric before cutting. All layouts and yardage figures for this pattern are for fabrics with or without nap. Additional fabrics make be needed to match stripes, plaids or one-way designs.

Suggested fabrics: All Views: These views are suitable for knits only. For views 1, 2 & 5, you may use a coordinating purchased ribbing if desired, or you may use self-fabric ribbing if it has a good degree of stretch. Fabrics for all views must have a good degree of stretch in order to go over the head. Use 100% cotton knits, cotton/poly knits, T-shirt knits, textured knits or ribbed knits. Prints and multicolored fabrics are idea. Woven fabrics may be used if they are fluid and you make adjustments to fit of the dress. Please read sewing guide before you select a woven fabric.

Notions: All Views: Thread. For optional Applique: "Wonder Under" appliqué adhesive paper, scraps of multi-colored fabrics for appliqué, matching thread. For Optional Embroidered Accent: Embroidery Floss in a variety of colors. View 5: 5 open ring snaps to secure leg openings. Dress Views: Interfacing is optional if you are using facings. Read pattern before you purchase interfacing.
Optional Zipper Views 1 or 6: Toddler Sizes: Use a 6-12 inch zipper. Children's Sizes: Use 12-16 inch zipper. See sewing guide before you buy zipper.
