Nursing Nightgown features a squared yoke accented with wide floral lace and a ribbon bow. Nursing openings are hidden in a wide inverted center pleat. The gown front and back are slightly gathered and flow beautifully into a long full skirt. This pattern includes cutting lines for short, three-quarter length and long sleeves and the hem may be adjusted for knee length, ballet length or a full length gown. This pattern is sized to conform to the national pattern industry standard with generous allowances for the changing figure of the breast-feeding mother. All sizes are included in each pattern.
Note: This nightgown can be fashioned from 45" fabric by adding a seam along the fold line which forms the nursing opening. Using heavy fabrics of narrow width may detract from the drape and flow of the gown, however, if you choose to use 45" wide fabric, use the yardage figures for the 60-inch and add an extra yard of fabric. (5 1/4 yards for long sleeve, ankle length gown.) The larger sizes will also need to make minor adjustments to some of the pattern pieces. Basic instructions for these alterations are included on the sewing guide. Notions: To accent front yoke only, 1/2 yard of 3 3/4" wide flat lace. To accent both yoke and hem, 3 1/2 yards of 2 3/4" wide lace. 1 1/2 yards of 1" wide lace to accent sleeves (optional). 1 1/4 yards of 1" wide ribbon to accent yoke. 1 yard of 3/8" wide plush elastic for sleeves.
