Very Best Baby Sling Ever!The baby sling has been around in one form or another for thousands of years. As busy moms include a baby in their life, the sling has been a natural development to keep the baby close while continuing with work that must be done! We've worked hard to blend the simple classic design of ancient baby slings with a few modern conveniences to develop the very best baby sling ever! Our unique design allows you to adjust each side of the sling individually to provide just the right amount of "tension" to support your baby! This sling is designed wide enough to provide a deep pocket for your young baby and a nice big safe seat for your bigger baby! You can safely carry a child from newborn up to about 35 lbs! We added nice wide padded edges to provide cushion and support for your baby and a big shoulder cushion to keep you comfortable as well! The tail end of our sling features a unique designs that is much safer for your baby and much easier to sew. You'll be pleased with how quickly this baby sling sews up!
Materials Needed:
2 1/2 yards 44/45" or 58/60" wide fabric*. 2 rectangular pieces of 1"
thick bonded quilt batting. The first measuring 16" x 48" and the second 8"
x 16". 2 heavy duty 1/4" thick welded rings that measure at least 2" (inside
diameter). Look for rings in your hardware store. Heavy duty nylon rings may
also be used but please read sewing guide tor more information. Please do not
use lightweight craft rings! Thread, heavy duty sewing needles, ruler, chalk
or washable marking pencil.
Optional: Small metal clip or snap to attach car keys to ring. Small "D" rings.
(see sewing guide for more information).
Suggested fabrics: Light to Medium weight cottons and cotton blend fabric.
Bonus: From the scraps of 44/45" fabric you will be able to make either a fanny pack OR a water bottle carrier. From the scraps of 58/60" wide fabric you will be able to make a child size sling, a fanny pack AND a water bottle carrier!
Three sizes ( Small, Medium and Large) are included in this pattern. The medium will fit most moms. If you have an extremely large frame and weigh more than 220 lbs, purchase 1/4 yard extra fabric and follow instructions on pattern tissue to make the sling bigger.
The child size dolly sling is perfect for your little ones to carry their doll
or teddy bear.
Sews up very quickly!
Materials Needed:
Using 44/45" wide fabric, you'll need EXACTLY 1/2 yard for the small (fits ages
2-4) or 1 1/2 yards for the large (fits 5-8 year olds). You'll be able to cut
2 large child-size slings from the 1 1/2 yard length. If you purchase 58/60"
wide fabric you'll need exactly 1/2 yard for either the small or the large size.
For each sling you'll need thread and 2 metal craft rings with an inside diameter
of
1 1/2 or 2 inches. Look at a discount store or a craft store for macrame rings.
They work well for this child sling. Do not use craft rings on the adult size
sling.
Suggested fabrics: light to medium lightweight cottons and cotton blends.
Perfect for carrying anything too big to fit in your fanny pack! This bag slings easily over your shoulder and is fun and easy to sew!
Materials Needed:
Unlined tote bag with outside pocket requires 1 1/4 yard of 44/45" fabric and
7/ 8 yard of 58/60" fabric. To line the tote bag you'll need 7/8 yard for the
lining and the inside pocket (any width fabric).
Recommended fabrics: Light to medium weight cottons and cotton blends. Midweight
upholstery fabrics will work well with the unlined bag, but try to avoid extremely
heavy fabrics. You'll need thread and heavy duty sewing machine needles.
Perfect for carrying standard 1 or 1 1/2 liter bottles of bottled water... you'll want to make several. The actual strap is longer than illustrated so it will sling easily over your shoulder and it also includes loops so you can carry it on your belt or fanny pack.
Materials Needed:
1/2 yard of either 44/45" or 58/60" fabric. Heavy duty sewing machine needle,
thread. You can fit one water bottle carrier from the scraps when sewing an
adult size baby sling.
Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight cotton and cotton blend fabrics. Light
to medium weight upholstery type fabrics will also work well.
This great little fanny pack is sized just perfectly to hold 2 diapers and a small packet of baby wipes. A hidden back pocket (optional) is perfect for holding your credit cards and cash so you can really be a hands free mom!
Materials Needed:
3/8 yard of 44/45" fabric or 1/4 yard of 58/60" wide fabric. 1 yard* of 1 inch
wide (or 1 1/2 inch wide) webbing for strap. 1 plastic side release buckle the
same width as your webbing. One 12 inch zipper for the front of fanny pack.
One 7 inch zipper for hidden back pocket (optional). Thread. You can fit one
fanny pack from the scraps when sewing an adult size sling.
Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight cotton and cotton blends. Light or
medium weight upholstery fabrics will also work well. *If your waist is bigger
than 36" around, buy enough webbing to fit comfortably around your waist.
